MONDAY, July 12, (News Locale) – Film director Roman Polanski is a free man after Switzerland refused to extradite him to the US. Swiss Justice Minister Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf told news reporters in Geneva that Polanski was a free man due to a fault in the application submitted by the US for his extradition.

FRIDAY, June 11, (News Locale) - Abby Sunderland, the 16-year-old Southern California girl, who embarked on a solo journey across the world, has been found safe in the southern Indian Ocean. Abby was thought to be lost at sea after her emergency beacons began signaling Thursday.

SATURDAY, June 5, (News Locale) - The 83rd Scripps National Spelling Bee competition finally saw a winner on Friday in 14-year-old Indian-American Anamika Veeramani. The teen from North Royalton, Ohio, is the third consecutive Indian-American Scripps National Spelling Bee champion.
