Spice Targets Rural Market with Rs 599 Handset |

WEDNESDAY, June 11, (News Locale) - Spice Telecom is shifting its focus to the rural countryside by announcing the introduction of a people's phone or Sabka Spice offer. As per the offer S-300 handset is available with a Spice connection at an astounding price of Rs 599.
The S-300 handset is a nifty thing weighing just 75 grams. Simple features will make using it an easy task in the rural population, Spice said. The audio interface system is available in Kannada language in Karnataka and Punjabi language in Punjab. These two states happen to be Spice Telecom's biggest markets in the country.
The S-300 handset comes with a three year warranty and users can opt for either pre-paid or post-paid connections. It has a 15-day back up battery and a talk-time of up to three hours.
Intelligent Audio Interface System replaces LCD in this phone, meaning that people who cannot read can listen to the mobile alerts. These alerts are offered in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
The "Sabka Spice" Combo Handset offer is cheap for users opting for pre-paid connections. They get zero rental for one year and the call rates are also affordable. Spice to Spice local calls cost 50 paise per minute, while calls from Spice to other local mobile numbers cost 65 paise per minute. Spice to landlines cost Rs 1.10 per minute.
For postpaid connections, Spice to Spice local calls cost 10 paise per minute and from Spice to other numbers cost 75 paise per minute.
The S-300 can be charged using any mobile charger. Value-added services being provided in Karnataka include prices of vegetables, beverages and cereals. Spice is offering these VAS at 60 paise per minute.
A speed-dial system allows users to dial frequently used numbers at the push of a button, while Red and Blue LEDs allow users to keep track of the charge, network availability and any missed calls. The Spice Sabka Mobile offer is valid in Karnataka and Punjab over the next two months.
