MONDAY, April 21, (News Locale) - Taking pills on right time is often a chore that a number of people struggle with, some times forgetting altogether that they are supposed to take medication regularly if they are to remain healthy in the hectic pace of life.
Now American wireless company Verizon, has designed a new application called Pill Phone that reminds people of the time when they are supposed to take their prescription. Developed along with the leading publisher of mobile phone applications, VOCEL, Pill Phone can be installed on almost all mobile phones available on the market including LG's VX9400 and Samsung's Alias.
Should the user not respond to the automatic alert, Pill Phone will also send a reminder to other family members. Apart from the Medication Reminder feature, the Pill Phone, developed along the lines of the hugely popular medical reference guide, Pill Book, also provides important information including the side effects, dosage and drug interactions of over 1,800 prescription drugs.
The Pill Phone is protected under the US Patent laws and has been given an FDA 510 (k) clearance. Subscribers of Verizon network, who have enabled the "Get It Now" feature, can download the application instantly for a monthly fee of $3.99.
